If you have a passion for deep listening and or have dealt with mental health issues yourself and you want to provide a listening ear in your state this may be one of the greatest opportunities to act upon.

Volunteer Guidelines

Our Volunteers choose the hours that best work for them we do ask that you commit to a 3-hour shift. Requirements are quiet backgrounds no outside interruptions, working laptops to access resources for callers, and a working phone available for calls during the shift you choose. All volunteers go through a background check, and 6 hour training course with ongoing training as needed. Confidentiality forms are signed at the end of training!

Volunteer Scheduling

Once a volunteer has chosen a work schedule, it is expected that he/she will be available at the agreed-upon time. If you must miss a volunteer session, please notify your staff contact as soon as possible. Please be prompt, consistent, and available for your assigned calls at the time of shift.

Volunteers Media Relations

Volunteers may not present themselves to the public or the media as an Emotional Support Soft Line spokesperson. Only approved ESSL staff and Board members when assigned are allowed to speak on behalf of Emotional Support Soft Line.
